Thanks for seein' about a girl, friend. here's where I'm writing my own history—for you, for me and anyone else who needs to laugh to keep from cryin' every once in awhile.

My Senior Year

1. Who was your best friend?
Lisa

2.What sports did u play?
Volleyball & basketball - however, in retrospect, I should've just played tennis like Coach Connell suggested. Isn't it funny sometimes how people see things in you that you don't always acknowledge? If I played more often I'd be decent (and in shape for goodness sakes), but I actually have a good tennis game.

3. What kind of car did you drive?:
the '88 nissan 200sx. li'l speedster.

4. It's Friday night, where were you?:
in the fall - probably lisa's and football; in the winter - on the bball court

5. Were you a party animal?:
not at all.

6. Were you considered a flirt?:
there was no one to flirt with ... however, i did honor a lot of requests for hand massages and manicures in chemistry.

7. Ever skip school?
i'm certified in the art of playin' hookie.

8. Were you a nerd?
i didn't wear glasses yet; however i was a classic overachiever; however, let's be honest in noting that lisa is probably responsible for my exceptional class ranking (certifiably for senior year, lol).

9. Did you admire your homecoming king?
ouff. talk about diggin' into the archives. i need my yearbook. but i feel certain that it was, like, wes headen and misty bridges, b.c everybody else dated someone who was in another class or something ...

10. Did you get suspended/expelled?
no. the token black girl doesn't get that sort of treatment.

11. Can you sing the fight song:
i can probably clap along with it if i heard it. oh and i know the cheerleader motions.

12. Who was your favorite teacher?
sr. year? tie: troy terry & ronnie d.

13. What was your favorite class?
tie: teacher cadet & ap english

17. If you could go back and do it over, would you?
for real, nikki: it was good times and all – but no – I'm good thanks J

18. What do you remember most about graduation?
my speech wasn't funny; it read more like a 99 cent hallmark card. i had been cautioned prior to writing it that this was a momentous occasion and to adjust wisely. i wish i could've had a more rebellious spirit. i was a great smart aleck, but rebellious? no.

19. Favorite memory of your Senior Year?
So many I'm certain because I loved it so, and funny that I can't remember any of them...
- Oh, duh! England!
- Finally made the playoffs in basketball.
- JT everyday in Teacher Cadet -- including Mr. Duncan lunging for the skip button every single time steamroller started ... I totally remember the day when he was not there and we all got to hear chicken-chokin', muthakcufin' cocaine. All together now ... collective gasp!
- (RE: Slide show. Seriously, why did it get stuck on that picture of me for the ENTIRE duration of Change the World?! That was embarrassing.)

20. Were you ever featured on the Senior Wall?
what the crap is that? is that the same as that wall where it showed we were going to college?

21. Did you have a job your senior year?
I negotiated with my parents. It wasn't possible for me to go to school full-time and pull the grades I was pulling, play those sports and preside over all those clubs and wear a hairnet and an apron in my "spare time." Let's be honest, I told them. Neither one of you saved not nan scrap from me to go to college like you expected (but didn't expect to have to plan for). I have to be this well-rounded to earn me some dollars, and I'll need a raise on my allowance because ... (see #22)

22. Where did you go most often for lunch?
the cafeteria couldn't give me anything but those chocolate chip cookies. i would still go back for those! otherwise it was all about rollin' off campus, wavin' all carefree to summey and greer to get us some pagoda, michael's, auntie anne's and tony's.

y'all. the next time i'm home. can we please go to pagoda? even if it's just so i can grab a togo cup of that sweet tea. lord have mercy.

24. What did you do after graduation?
avoided senior week b.c i knew what was in store there and was in no mood for triflin' witchin' girls' behaviors. plus i got the england trip as a tradeoff.

25. When did you graduate?
1998 it was great great great great great! (loved me some nutty professor back then)

26. Where are most of your classmates?
still in p-town, g-vegas, sleasley ... elsewhere I imagine.

27. Are you going to your ten year reunion?
yes. jayme and i have already vowed to bring some single malt scotch and set up shop in the dead center of the room. i'll be there with my 5-Star notebook to commemorate the making of new lists about so-and-so wearin' such and such, whoever has the ugliest baby, whoever has too many babies, who's still cute/who still ain't cute/who got uncute, etc. :) it'll be like watching e! live.

28. Who was your home room teacher?
is homeroom the same as the free period, loti? mrs. newman.

29. Who will repost this after you?
whoever's left. this was fun.

Bloody muggles ...

Back in the habit.
