Y'all. Musically 1980 was a very good year. I had a hard time narrowing down all the choices, and was kind of surprised to learn that a lot of those songs are in current rotation:

I could prolly go on with this 80s love fest, but I really just want to give you this one right here because those background scats in the second verse?! I turn all the way up when it gets to this part. Can't quite explain it, but since I was a kid this was always the part where I really start grooving. Before I was sure it was the combination of the bass line and the windchime-y way the wailer ladies always pipe in, but now it's much more about how much I feel it when he sings, "Don't let them change ya, or even rearrange ya, oh no..."
Yeah, that's what I'm feeling the most at this time in my life right now sho nuff.
