Lately I've come across a number of articles about hand- and letterwriting, and they've really resonated. I know I love few things more than receiving real, good quality, I-thought-of-you-today mail. USPS style. I'm very lucky and grateful to have several chums who are already really great about sending me postcards, letters, a li'l note.
Today I decided to send my Daddy this card, a commemorative Palmetto State Showdown ornament if you will. I can hear him harrumphin' a "Bump You" and that makes me smile. I haven't even given yet, and I'm already receiving some goodness!
I also know I don't send nearly enough of this sort of mail, despite my mostly steady hand and lovely handwriting. Luckily though, it's the holiday season, and that means it's time for me to generate some Holiday Haiku cards!
Of course, my steady boyfriend, Procrastination, and I are in the throes of a mutual love affair, but that's why holiday includes New Year's Eve and Day. Awesome.
For now though, the cylinders are a-firing, and many a quite overdue Thank You and/or Hey You note may be in your mailbox soon, friends.
When's the last time you sat down and wrote a dear one a letter?
