Back in the day (when I was young I'm not a kid anymore but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again ...) I had this other blog. It was my ventilation system in the course of a workday; my self-imposed morale boost; my testimony to the powers of humor and observation. It was also, apparently, a source of high amusement, relief and/or fellowship for a few of you. It was born out of my love for haiku, and at its best served as the finest vehicle for giving you a glimpse of my day-to-day reality ... one snapshot + one haiku. One day last March I thought Workin' 5|7|5 had reached its end. The Lawd-Jesus-what-the-hell-is-going-on that was my previous position had sufficiently unhinged itself and my weekends suddenly became week-long. That last post was, in my opinion, the perfect amalgamation of mischief and verve ... and raw, unbridled truth.
I am not always the voice of reason, but I am ever ready to tell it like it is.
It's in the spirit of mischief and verve that I've decided to resurrect Workin' 5|7|5 here. I've been struggling with ideas that would inspire me to post frequently (an ever-elusive goal), and as those that know me well understand, brevity is not one of my natural gifts. So, enter the haiku.
The Return
Dog days not over. The corporate cray-cray lives and so I endure.
