Pardon me while I express great pride at having crocheted something that is not a scarf.
I was going to make more scarves, but I have a basket full already, plus it's warmer these days so there's not really a need for neck warmth unless you have vampire bites to hide and then the snazzy folks over at Apartment Therapy led me to Linda Permann's awesomely easy Reversible & Reusable Swiffer Sock.
It only took me 9 years to branch out, and while my Swiffer Sock is actually a tad bit askew and snug, but it's lookin' pretty dang marvelous. Plus it's handy, and thus satisfies my Capricorn soul - form and function align to make the universe a better (albeit Cleveland Browns-colored) place.
Mags has promised to test it out today, and given how our entire apartment has hardwood floors I'm guessing I'll be putting the extra yarn that remains to further use. I'm still not certain that I'll ever make a blanket. I have a pattern for a patchwork style one, but, you know, a blanket is large scale. We're talking about covering asses here and, well, I'm not so sure I'm trying to get any deeper into the CYA business than my adult-daycare job already requires. Instead I'll just relish the fact that I am a postcard-sized picture kind of girl and set my sights on adorable wee-sized crocheting projects.
Like doilies.
With the right brightly-colored yarn ... shood ... I can coast right on past spinsterhood and achieve elite granny status with Doily Delights by Danita.
Talk about a hip replacement.
